full moon beach Resort Kata
The name of this place would lead you to believe it’s right on the beach — it’s not.
Kata Yai beach is a good 15-minute walk away. Owned by two Spaniards, Andrea and Marco, and an Italian, Michael, this place oozes cool. The assortment of modern, clean bungalows forms a perimeter around the lush gardens and swimming pool, which is set back on a slight hill from the main road. Two storey houses, with upstairs sporting a double bedroom, and downstairs containing a lounge area plus sofa bed a good family option. The large and small bungalow options are actually a mega-bungalow split into a top and lower section. Both options are modestly but stylishly decorated with a lot of colour, and have comfortable beds. Free breakfast is included in all the rates and served in the equally cool on-site restaurant which has large flat screen TVs and a sizeable English-language book selection. The restaurant specialises in pizza and has WiFi for guests and customers free of charge. A great chill-out spot during the day, but we aren’t sure whether or not the Fullmoon Beach Resort suffers from the blaring music of the questionable bars just next door. Be sure to check online for promotions — the rates sometimes dip below 50% off high season price.
