Things to See in Phuket

One of the most famous sights on Phuket is the Big Buddha. Measuring 45 metres, the alabaster Buddha stands at the top of the Nakkerd Hills and is visible from most of the island. Other prominent religious sites on Phuket include Wat Chalong and Wat Prathong, as well as a number of temples in Phuket Town. If you’d like to see some of the spectacular landscapes that Phuket is famous for, head to the Sirinat National Park where you’ll find the outstanding beaches of Nai Thon, Nai Yang and Mai Khao.

Thanks to its status as one of Southeast Asia’s most popular destinations, Phuket boasts a fantastic choice of things to do. If you’re looking for an active break, have a go at surfing on Kata Beach, head to Patong for parasailing, visit Chalong Bay or Karon for snorkelling and diving or just plonk yourself down on the nearest stretch of sand of swimming and sunbathing. Sailing trips are available from many spots on Phuket, with regular ferries departing from several points for nearby islands. Elephant treks, hiking, kayaking, fishing, jet skiing and stand up paddle boarding are all also available on Phuket, ensuring there’ll be something to keep you happy no matter what your interests are.
